A Wildly Worthy December

Banding together for the goodness of humanity makes perfect sense this month.

Surely there's one person on your holiday list that would appreciate a charitable donation in their honor. We can't help but use our PR resources to highlight some of the worthy organizations we adore this month.

Here's our ongoing list of Wildy Worthy December organizations, so far (we'll keep adding to it through the month):

The Pixie Project is a non-profit animal adoption center and rescue. They offer a variety of services to the public including but not limited to: pet adoption, pet owner education and support and low cost and free spay and neuter and vet services for homeless and low-income pet owners. The majority of Pixie Project's animals come from rural Oregon shelters.

  • Children's Cancer Association When seriously ill children, teens, and their families need more than medicine, CCA's innovative programs create joy and support, one moment at a time. Your gift can help in a myriad of ways. Learn more and donate here.
  • Make-A-Wish Oregon serves children with life-threatening medical conditions living in Oregon and Clark County, Washington. The organization aims to grant about 200 wishes each year with the help of donors and volunteer wish granters throughout the region. Donate here.
  • Mercy Corps This global organization helps people survive and get back on their feet when natural disaster strikes, economies collapse or conflict erupts. And where there are chronic threats to peace and progress, they partner with communities to overcome obstacles and thrive. Donate Here.
  • Boys & Girls Aid There are 8000 foster children in Oregon on any given night. This group cares for our community's foster children who live without a permanent home or parents. Donate here.

  • Fighting Pretty Arrange to send a “Pretty Package” to a woman (you know or don't know) undergoing cancer treatment; or to someone who has completed treatment. Packages include luxurious beauty treats and, most important, signature mini pink boxing gloves. You can send or sponsor one package for $25. Donate here.

  • Donate Life Northwest Over 120,000 U.S. patients are on the transplant waiting list. Nearly 3,000 live in Oregon and Washington. A growing shortage of living and deceased organ donors means not everyone receives their transplant in time. This month, a local organ-donor-family will match your dollar-amount gift if you share a few words about what inspires you to support organ donation. Donate here.

  • American Red Cross  We make no secret of our loyalty to this organization for blood, military support, disaster relief and more. This season, the Red Cross has a gift catalog that offers Red Cross items for your generous donations. Donate here.
